The plan is finished. Now the students test it
The new school year opened this morning in the yard at ZSLiT nr 1, and with it the first cohort of "Programista AI". Everything written, taught and rehearsed since February now has to survive a real timetable.
The whole school out in the yard, white shirts, the flag party on the red court. The head teacher opened the year with real enthusiasm — not the ceremonial kind that gets read off a sheet of paper. The message was that the school is ready for change, and that it sees the need to keep pace with a world which is not going to slow down for anybody's timetable.
A technical school cannot stand still
A general secondary school teaches subjects that move slowly. A technical school teaches technology — tools, hands‑on skills, the way work is actually done in an industry — and that content goes stale on a completely different clock. Keeping a programming track honest means rewriting parts of it every year. Most institutions quietly decide not to: the curriculum stays, the world moves, and the gap becomes the graduate's problem four years later. That the leadership of ZSLiT nr 1 refuses that trade is very much to their credit, and it is the only reason this work was possible.
Our part of the reform is the programming track: the curriculum, the module programmes, the exercises and the teacher training behind them, done pro bono. This September's students are the first to walk into it, and we are genuinely honoured to be part of the change.
To the teachers and the students who started this morning: we wish you a good year. Learning to build software takes patience, and a lot of the work is not going to feel exciting. But we hope you find the point of it along the way — because what you are learning really will be of use to you. Good luck.
For us this is not a finish line but the first real test. Whether what we built over the last months holds up is not a question any document can answer — only the students and the ordinary reality of a school year can, and they start answering today.
